Love cars? Hate reading? Heat Soak is the story for you.
The Braking Point sequel by WRC commentator, Jon Desborough, is out now. “Of course it’s based on those times when I met Colin McRae. “And there’s no doubt it’s influenced by the ‘good old days of the WRC. But it’s about more that.” says Jon Desborough, WRC commentator, about his new book Heat Soak.
“I had such fun getting my characters into scrapes in the first story, I just thought we had to go again. So I wrote a sequel,” he says.
And this time he starts in the mountains above Monte Carlo, takes us to Corsica and ends the series of three short adventures in Greece.
But why choose, ‘Heat Soak’ as the title? “Fans know that a car is affected by heat if it comes to rest too long at the end of a long stage. The rapid rise in temperature starts to frazzle the components. That’s what happens to the characters in this adventure.
He says it gets serious in Heat Soak because rally hero, Callum George, has been snapped up by one of the big manufacturer teams.
But who’s this Aléjandra character? “Ah yes,” he answers, “every team needs one. I’ll say no more.”
If you love cars but hate reading then Heat
Soak is the adventure for you. Enjoy!
